Care Guide

General Care & Maintenance

  • Wear last, take off first: Wait until skincare, makeup, or perfume is fully absorbed before wearing. Remove jewelry before removing makeup or showering.
  • Keep away from water & chemicals: Avoid swimming (sea/chlorine), hot springs, bathing, exercise sweat, cleaning products, perfume, hairspray, and sunscreen.
  • Avoid friction & drops: Keep away from keys, coins, stone countertops; avoid wearing during sleep or workouts.
  • Wipe after each wear: Gently wipe sweat and sebum with a clean, soft microfiber cloth.
  • Store separately: Use a dry, sealed bag or separate compartment with anti-oxidation sheets or silica gel. Keep away from bathroom humidity and sunlight.

Caring for Different Materials

Gold Plating (18K Electroplating / Vermeil / PVD)

  • Avoid contact with hard objects, perfume, and alcohol/acid/alkaline cleaners.
  • Cleaning: Use warm water with a little neutral soap, wipe gently with soft cloth or brush, rinse quickly, dry thoroughly.
  • Avoid abrasive polishing pastes or silver cloths; avoid ultrasonic cleaning.
  • Tip: For frequent wear, professional re-plating every 3–12 months keeps brightness.

Pure Gold (14k/18k) & Stainless Steel

  • Stable and durable; daily wipe with soft cloth is enough.
  • Gold: clean with mild soap + water. Stainless steel: water/sweat-resistant, but avoid harsh chemicals on plated surfaces.
  • Ultrasonic usually safe for plain gold (not for gemstone settings).

925 Sterling Silver

  • Reacts with sulfides in air (yellow/black tarnish). Store sealed and wear often to slow discoloration.
  • Clean with silver cloth (not on plated/blackened surfaces) or mild soap + water then dry.
  • Avoid bleach, chlorinated water, sulfur hot springs. Don't use ultrasonic or chemical soaks with porous gemstones.

Brass / Alloys

  • Oxidizes and discolors easily. Avoid water and sweat; wipe daily.
  • For deeper clean: very dilute neutral detergent + soft cloth, avoid gemstones/plated parts, dry immediately.

Natural Gemstones (Quartz, Agate, Chalcedony, Obsidian, etc.)

  • Clean with mild soapy water + soft brush.
  • Avoid sudden temperature changes and impacts.
  • Do not use ultrasonic if stone has fractures or fillings.

Porous / Fragile Gemstones (Pearls, Shells, Coral, Turquoise, Malachite, Opal, Lapis, etc.)

  • Only wipe gently with slightly damp soft cloth.
  • Avoid soap, alcohol, acids, essential oils, ultrasonic, steam cleaning.
  • Avoid strong sunlight / over-drying. Pearls should be wiped after each wear and kept away from perfume/sweat.

Glass / Czech Beads / Crystal Glass

  • Hard but can chip on impact.
  • Wipe with slightly damp soft cloth, avoid chemical cleaners & sudden temp changes.

Leather Cord / Wax Cord / Elastic Cord

  • Keep away from water & sweat; avoid overstretching.
  • Elastic cords age naturally; check or replace every 6–12 months.
  • Do not wear while sleeping or exercising.

Storage & Travel

  • Use separate sealed bag + jewelry box compartment to prevent scratches.
  • Add anti-oxidation tablets/desiccant (replace regularly).
  • Use a hard-shell box for travel; don't place jewelry loose in checked luggage.

Recommended Cleaning Frequency

  • Daily: Dry wipe with soft cloth after each wear.
  • Every 2–4 weeks: Gentle clean (more often in humid/coastal areas).
  • If dull: Mirror-finish pieces can be polished; plated jewelry may need re-plating.

Don'ts (Keep in Mind)

  • Avoid bleach, chlorine cleaners, disinfectant alcohol, perfume/setting spray, sunscreen, essential oils, nail polish remover.
  • Avoid skincare with mercury/sulfur, seawater/hot springs, sauna heat, heavy sweating, ultrasonic on porous/plated pieces.
